Refractory Anchor Incoloy 800 is excellently resistant to corrosive compounds in aqueous environments. This makes it a popular choice in industries like oil and gas, where it can handle sour gases that contain chloride. Refractory Anchor also offers resistance to chemical degradation, often caused by oxidation. It can also resist stress-corrosion cracking in the solution-annealed state.
Incoloy 800h Refractory Anchors are also highly resistant to chloride and sulfide stresses. The chromium content in Incoloy 800H/HT allows the alloy to withstand the pitting and crevice corrosion often seen in acidic environments. This makes it suitable for commercial industrial applications, including heat-treating equipment, chemical and petrochemical processing, nuclear power plants, and paper pulp industries.
In addition to its resistance to corrosion, the Incoloy 800H/HT alloy is solid at elevated temperatures. The alloy can withstand temperature extremes up to 1100 degrees Fahrenheit (593 degrees Celsius). This superior strength and corrosion resistance combination is why the Incoloy 800H/HT alloy is widely used in demanding applications.
During the manufacture of the refractory anchors, the alloy is formed by hot forging, which gives it exceptional ductility. The forging process also ensures that the alloy is dense and has high tensile strength and a high creep rupture strength.
